We were coming up to 5 five years together and I wanted to do something special for my other half! so why not take her to Paris? Haha yeah you read that right crazy I know! Why Paris? Because I wanted to make her feel like the most special girl in the whole world! We booked the trip for seven days so we had loads of time to go and see as much as the city of love as possible!
We stayed at the Louis blanc hotel which is a pretty central location for the price, however even better the underground metro was just outside making it an ideal base to explore from! Using the metro was an experience in itself!! Firstly we tried to talk to the woman behind the counter at the station but she could only speak French and we knew as much as bonjour LOL (probably should have done some more research!). This however did not deter us, we find a map for the metro and we navigated from there. Well I see we, I mainly just followed the mrs as she took the challenge like she always does so wonderfully.
Things We Did
We did so much in Paris its hard to remember everything, honestly even though we used the metro I have never done so much walking in my entire life than I did that week LOL. We ventured to the montparnasse tower which offers stunning panoramic views of the whole city! We checked out the shopping and history at the Louvre! We walked through the streets of Paris from our hotel to the scare coeur, this was like a miniature adventure in itself! Getting to see parts of Paris without a load of tourists around gave us peace and quiet whilst seeing some cool architecture and fun cultures. Of course we went to see Notre-dame locking our love padlock on the bridge, which thinking about it will still be there till this day! On our actual anniversary the 20th of October 2010, we took the metro to the Arc de Triomphe, walked down the champ de elysees, found a lovely little Italian restaurant here which we stopped in for dinner! We then proceeded to walk down the seine till we got to the Eiffel Tower. We got there at perfect timing really, just as day was turning into night so by the time we got to the top of the tower Paris was lit up magnificently! What a night! the stress of planning the whole trip suddenly just became so much more worth it!
Paris has so much beauty it was truly a remarkable stay I would recommend visiting to anyone! Only good things to speak about our whole experience!
Until next time!
